Full gas central heating systems supplied, installed and serviced

As well as an A-rated energy efficient gas central heating boiler, highly effective radiators, smart control systems and well insulated hot water cylinders will keep your water hot and your home warm while cutting your energy bills and cut down your carbon footprint.

Heating and PlumbingGas Boilers

Boilers account for around 60% of what you spend in a year on energy bills, so an efficient boiler makes a big difference. If you already have an old gas boiler, it may be worth looking for an upgrade as some of the older models give off harmful omissions, especially if they have experienced a great amount of wear. Their efficiency also begins to deteriorate, so you could end up paying unnecessarily high fuel bills.

Central Heating Controls

Honeywell 7 Day ProgrammerThe right set of central heating controls will let you set your heating and hot water to come on and off when you need them and heat different parts of your home to different temperatures as required. According to the Energy Saving Trust the average savings you could make in a typical three-bedroom semi-detached home, heated by gas:

  • Install a room thermostat if you didn’t have one before: £70 a year
  • Fit a hot water tank thermostat: £30 a year
  • Turn down your room thermostat by one degree: £55 a year.

Hot Water Cylinders

Energy Saving Trust recommend hot water cylinders that have been factory insulated to help keep your hot water at the right temperature for longer.

  • Upgrading your hot water cylinder to an Energy Saving Trust Recommended one can save you around £40 a year. They are already highly insulated and help you save the most energy and money.

Gas Appliance Safety Checks and Servicing

Your gas boiler, gas cooker and gas fire should be safety checked once a year and serviced regularly by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If they are not there is the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning – do you have a carbon monoxide alarm?

What are the signs that your gas appliance needs servicing?

Gas appliances should be serviced regularly but if you notice any of the warning signs below you should arrange for a Gas Safe registered engineer to service your appliance as soon as possible:

  • Your gas appliance is not working properly
  • Flames are lazy yellow instead of a crisp blue
  • You can see black marks or stains on or around your gas appliances
  • The pilot light keeps going out
  • There is increased condensation in the room

Power Flushing – Why power flush your central heating system?

Central heating systems can get clogged up with sludge, corrosion deposits and hard water scale over time blocking pipework and radiators reducing the efficiency of the system.

  • According to The Energy Saving Trust: Corrosion deposits in an older central heating system can cause a substantial reduction in the effectiveness of the radiators, and the system as a whole – up to a 15% reduction.

Power flushing your central heating system removes this sludge, deposits and hard water scaling making your heating system more efficient and saving you money on fuel.
